brick, glass and black wood cladding extension with house
EXTENSIONS

KiTHRIG

This extension project stands as a testament to the successful integration of modern design with historical preservation. Situated on a Grade C listed building, the challenge was to create a seamless extension that complemented the existing structure while introducing contemporary elements. Our team meticulously navigated through the building warrant process, ensuring compliance with regulations and preserving the historical significance of the original property.

The key feature of the Kithrig house extension is the elegant glass link that serves as a connector between the old and the new. This transparent element not only brings abundant natural light into the interior spaces but also provides a distinct separation between the historic and modern sections of the building.

The design choices, such as a zinc-clad roof, timber linings, and carefully placed random stonework, contribute to a harmonious blend of textures and materials. The result is a visually striking yet respectful addition to the Grade C listed property.

Throughout the construction phase, our agency played a pivotal role in supervising the build, ensuring that the design intent was executed with precision. The Kithrig house extension now stands as a unique and sophisticated example of architectural ingenuity, celebrating the coexistence of tradition and modernity in a listed setting.
